Jakarta - Perang gugatan antara para produsen smartphone belum menunjukkan tanda berakhir. Yang terbaru, Motorola menuding Apple melanggar tujuh patennya.

Vendor ponsel yang diakuisisi Google pun meminta pihak berwewenang untuk memblokir impor iPhone, iPad dan komputer Mac. Perangkat-perangkat tersebut diminta dilarang beredar di Amerika Serikat.

Komplain Motorola didaftarkan ke lembaga International Trade Comission (ITC). Paten yang dipermasalahkan terkait location reminders, notifikasi email, pemutar video dan sebagainya.

"Kami ingin menyelesaikan persoalan paten tersebut, namun ketidakmauan Apple untuk melisensinya membuat kami tidak punya pilihan selain mempertahankan inovasi kami," demikian pernyataan Motorola yang TerasJakarta kutip dari DigitalTrends, Minggu (19/8/2012).

Hal ini dinilai sebagai perang antara Google dan Apple, dengan Google menggunakan paten Motorola untuk menyerang Apple. Terlebih lagi, Apple banyak memperkarakan vendor Android seperti Samsung dan juga Motorola sendiri.
